All Children's Hospital Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, works with individual donors, charitable foundations and corporations to enhance medical services and programs, and to help care for children whose families could not otherwise afford to pay. Last year alone, All Children's provided approximately $100 million in unreimbursed care to children in need.
All Children's Hospital is a 216-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the University of South Florida College of Medicine, where more than 140 pediatric specialists and subspecialists provide state-of-the-art medical and surgical care for children. They work closely with specially trained nurses, therapists, pharmacists and other caring professionals who understand the medical, social and emotional needs of each stage of childhood and adolescence. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit accommodates 60 premature and at-risk infants. Two pediatric intensive care units provide critical care staffing to children who are acutely ill and patients who are recovering from complex surgeries.
All Children's is recognized nationally as an outstanding clinical center in many areas, including pediatric cancer, immunology, cystic fibrosis, cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, genetics, cleft palate and craniofacial disorders. Of course, All Children's provides expert care for kids with routine medical problems, too. Two-thirds of the surgeries performed yearly in our eight operating suites are outpatient procedures. Our Short Stay Unit makes it possible for many children to have surgery or diagnostic procedures without the anxiety and expense of an overnight hospitalization.
In addition, the Foundation relies heavily upon volunteers who donate their time and energy in support of All Children's, both in the hospital and throughout the community. In 2004, volunteers donated 42,043 hours of their time, saving All Children's more than $826,000 for the services they provided in our hospital.
This year the 1st annual Sarasota Pumpkin Festival will be benefitting the all Children’s Hospital there will be a $5 parking fee at the festival in which will be ran by all Children’s Hospital Volunteers with 100% of proceed going directly to the foundation to benefit children in need.
